What we did in 2016

2016 was another busy year for the MDNC and thanks to so many and their ongoing support we have been able to help many fellow community member in need. Just to give you a glimpse on what we’ve actually done. You can help by making a donation or offering your time to contribute to:

IN 2016 WE:

• Cooked 12500 meals in our More than a Meal program and helped many to overcome social isolation
• We supported 105 families to raise great kids in our community
• 240 kids came to our Toddler Time playgroup
• 30 vulnerable families were provided with intensive support through Brighter Futures
• We supported 120 women and their children effected by Domestic and Family Violence improve safety and wellbeing.
• Emergency Relief
363 food parcels
557 Liberation Larder meals
216 support packages
206 people assisted with referrals
1238 showers
▪ 200 counselling sessions for better Mental Health in our community
▪ We provided Financial Counselling to many in need
Social Inclusion activities run every week connecting people to each other, community and services
Stretch and Move – yoga, Chi Gong, Feldenkrais classes
Out of the Box – yarn bombing, curious and curiosity art group, Eugene’s nature walks, board games, movies, and books
Make some noise – community choir, neighbourhood ukulele, funky bunch jam sessions
